“

It felt like a resort, with choice meals, activities like yoga and body building, fun outings and of course lots of recovery groups… Today I’m clean and sober using all the tools I received from my time in the Lighthouse. The staff was great and the camaraderie among the women was strong.

Women’s Detox & Residential Treatment

Care begins with medically supervised detox, where withdrawal symptoms are closely monitored and supported with medical evaluation, medication management, psychiatric care, and compassionate 24-hour support. Safety has been established. Healing is underway. Strength begins to return, confidence starts rebuilding, and each woman gains the tools to move forward with greater stability, self-trust, and hope for the life ahead.

Typical Duration:

Detox: 3 to 10 days

Residential: 30 to 90+ days

Care can continue through PHP, IOP, sober living, and alumni support.

Frequently Asked Questions About Women’s Rehab

Women-only addiction treatment provides care in a gender-specific setting built around safety, trust, connection, and recovery. Our drug rehab for women combines 24-hour structure, detox and residential care, trauma-informed treatment, and a close peer community where women can begin to feel safe enough to open up and heal.

Care is individualized and may include individual therapy, group therapy, psychiatric services, relapse prevention, 12-step involvement, life skills, and mindfulness practices. You do not need to know exactly what kind of help you need before calling. Admissions will listen, ask the right questions, and help determine the most appropriate level of care.

This program may be a strong fit if addiction has left you physically depleted, emotionally overwhelmed, isolated, unsafe, or unable to maintain recovery on your own. Many women arrive after years of struggling, repeated attempts to stop, trauma, relationship loss, or living in environments that make recovery harder.

Placement considers substance use, withdrawal risk, mental health symptoms, trauma history, medical concerns, safety, previous treatment, recovery goals, and the amount of structure you need. You do not have to figure that out alone. Admissions and the clinical team will help you understand what level of care makes sense and what comes next.

Yes. Women can receive Detox (Withdrawal Management) and Residential Treatment within the same women-only setting, allowing care to continue without losing the sense of safety and connection established early in treatment.

Detox focuses on medical monitoring, withdrawal support, stabilization, and comfort. As your body begins to recover, supportive programming and recovery education are introduced as clinically appropriate. Residential treatment then creates space for deeper healing through therapy, psychiatric support, recovery groups, life skills, trauma-informed care, and transition planning. The goal is to help you move from simply getting through withdrawal toward rebuilding strength, stability, and confidence.

A women-only setting can make it easier to feel safe, speak honestly, and connect with others who understand similar experiences. For women carrying trauma, shame, relationship pain, or years of emotional exhaustion, that sense of safety can be an important part of beginning to trust again.

The 20-bed setting keeps the community personal and connected, while trauma-informed care supports healing at an appropriate pace. Treatment may include Seeking Safety, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, emotional regulation work, relapse prevention, and women-focused recovery groups. Across Lighthouse, 65%+ of staff are in recovery or Lighthouse alumni, bringing lived recovery experience into a treatment system with 25+ years of established history.

Yes. Family members and close support people can be involved when participation supports your recovery and is clinically appropriate. Addiction often affects the people you love, and healing those relationships can become an important part of rebuilding your life.

Therapist-guided family or couples sessions may address communication, boundaries, relapse risk, addiction education, and healthier ways to support recovery. Visitation and transition planning may also involve loved ones when appropriate. Your safety, privacy, and clinical needs remain central throughout the process. Admissions can also help your family understand what to expect before treatment begins.

Detox commonly lasts 3 to 10 days, while residential treatment typically lasts 30 to 90 days or longer. Your length of stay depends on withdrawal severity, medical necessity, clinical progress, payer authorization, safety, and individualized recovery goals.

There is no single timeline that fits every woman. Some need more time to stabilize. Others need more time to work through trauma, strengthen relapse prevention skills, rebuild routines, and prepare for greater independence. Continued support can include PHP, IOP, Sober Living, and Alumni & Aftercare as you move forward.

It may. Coverage depends on your insurance plan, level of care, medical necessity, and authorization requirements. You do not need to understand all of that before reaching out.

Lighthouse accepts 30+ commercial insurance plans, offers private pay options, and provides Medi-Cal/DMC pathways when applicable. Admissions verifies benefits, reviews available financial pathways, explains reported coverage and known financial responsibility, and helps you understand your options. Your insurer ultimately determines final coverage, authorization, and payment.

Planning for what comes next begins before you leave residential treatment. Recovery can feel especially vulnerable during transitions, so the goal is to make sure you leave with direction, support, and a clear plan instead of uncertainty.

Depending on your clinical needs and progress, care can continue through PHP, IOP, Sober Living, ongoing therapy or psychiatric care, community recovery meetings, and Alumni & Aftercare. Case managers also help address housing, transportation, employment, family support, legal obligations, medical needs, and relapse risk. As structure gradually decreases, you continue building the confidence, support system, and daily stability needed to carry recovery into your life.
