Alcohol & Drug Rehab Scholarships

Lighthouse Scholarship Program

The Lighthouse Scholarship Program removes the financial barrier between people in crisis and the treatment that could change the course of their lives. We provide two 30-day scholarships each month and one 90-day scholarship each year.

Our scholarships give selected recipients access to the same full continuum of care as every Lighthouse client, from Detox and Residential Treatment through outpatient care, Sober Living, and long-term recovery support. Scholarships are reserved for people with genuine financial need, clinical eligibility, and the willingness to fully engage, so they can stabilize, rebuild their lives, and pursue lasting freedom from addiction.

Recovery Story

A Scholarship Became Her Chance at Recovery

Erica came to Lighthouse through a scholarship and completed treatment. Her experience shows exactly what this program is meant to make possible. The scholarship opened the door, then a complete treatment experience gave her the structure and support to do the work of recovery. She found a comfortable place to live, three meals a day, caring staff, a disciplined daily structure, recovery classes, outside activities, and an individual support team that included a client care coordinator, counselor, and therapist.

Her 1000% recommendation carries special meaning for someone wondering whether treatment can be worth the leap. When finances are the only thing standing between a willing person and meaningful care, a scholarship can provide the opportunity. Erica’s experience shows what can happen when that opportunity is met with participation, structure, and a commitment to recovery.

Our Unique Approach to Scholarships

More than 25 years of treatment experience and 25,000+ clients have taught us what recovery demands. We have refined and engineered every part of the Lighthouse treatment experience around one objective: helping people build lasting recovery. Clinical care, daily structure, accountability, recovery community, 12-Step principles, skill development, and transition planning work together intentionally toward that goal.

A scholarship gives someone who may have had no financial path into treatment access to this entire recovery system. We create recovery success stories every day. Lighthouse is your best option for a rehab scholarship when you are ready to use the opportunity to change your life.

Frequently Asked Questions About Lighthouse Scholarship Program

Rehab scholarships are for uninsured or underinsured adults who genuinely need treatment, lack a viable financial pathway, meet clinical criteria, and are ready to fully participate in recovery. If you are suffering, or watching someone you love deteriorate because treatment feels financially out of reach, do not assume there is no path forward.

Priority may be given to high-risk individuals, people experiencing homelessness or unstable housing, justice-involved applicants, urgent community referrals, and individuals demonstrating significant willingness to change. Every case is reviewed for clinical fit, financial need, readiness, priority, and current availability.

You do not need to decide whether you qualify on your own. Call Admissions. Our team will listen to what is happening, evaluate the available pathways, and tell you clearly what the next step is.

Start by calling Admissions. You do not need to understand the treatment system, know which level of care you need, or have the entire situation figured out before you reach out. Our team reviews clinical appropriateness, financial need, and readiness for treatment, then guides you through the application.

Applicants must submit a personally written letter (not AI) requesting treatment and why they should be considered. We encourage you to describe your situation, willingness to change, demonstrate humility and accountability, and commit to taking action if selected.

For someone struggling with addiction, making that first call can be difficult. For families, it can feel like one more decision in an exhausting crisis. Let us carry the process forward with you. Scholarship placements are limited, so when someone is ready, call Admissions and begin the review immediately.

Lighthouse provides two 30-day scholarships each month and one 90-day scholarship each year. These are meaningful treatment opportunities reserved for people who have the need, clinical fit, and willingness to fully use them.

The annual 90-day scholarship is reserved for an applicant demonstrating exceptional commitment, often while facing severe instability, legal consequences, or other major life circumstances. Every placement depends on financial need, clinical appropriateness, readiness, priority, capacity, and current availability.

If you or someone you love is ready for help, do not wait for the situation to become worse before asking. Admissions can tell you whether a scholarship is currently available and evaluate every other viable pathway into treatment at the same time.

No. A scholarship recipient enters the same Lighthouse treatment system and receives the same standard of high quality care as other clients. The scholarship changes how treatment is funded, not the seriousness, structure, or quality of the treatment experience.

Depending on clinical need, care can include Detox, Residential Treatment, PHP, IOP, Sober Living, and Aftercare, along with individual and group therapy, psychiatric care, co-occurring disorder treatment, 12-Step Integration, Relapse Prevention, mindfulness practices, life skills, case management, and transition planning.

That matters because a person receiving a scholarship is not placed into a lesser version of treatment. They receive a real opportunity to enter the full recovery process. If finances are the obstacle, call Admissions and let us determine whether that opportunity is available.

Yes. Underinsured adults can be considered when available insurance or other payment options still leave no viable way to access clinically appropriate treatment.

If you have coverage and still cannot make treatment work financially, do not stop at the assumption that rehab is out of reach. Admissions reviews the available insurance and financial pathways, clinical fit, financial need, and readiness to engage. That includes qualified adults searching for drug rehab scholarships, alcohol rehab scholarships, financial assistance for rehab, or rehab for uninsured adults.

The fastest way to understand your real options is to speak with someone who knows the system. Call Admissions. We will review the situation with you and identify the strongest available path into care.

Yes. Law enforcement, homeless outreach teams, community organizations, case managers, advocates, and other approved referral partners can refer someone for scholarship consideration.

Lighthouse has deep experience working with complex referrals and people whose addiction intersects with homelessness, legal involvement, instability, and limited access to care. Once a candidate is identified, the process moves through pre-screening, clinical review, financial verification, priority assessment, and an availability decision.

When placement is approved, Admissions, outreach, clinical staff, case management, and operations coordinate the transition into care, including transportation when needed and communication with the referring agency when applicable.

If you are trying to get someone into treatment and believe finances are the barrier, contact Admissions directly. Give us the situation and let our team help determine the next move.

Most scholarship placements are structured for 30 days, often within Residential Treatment or a clinically appropriate combination of Detox and residential care. Lighthouse also provides one 90-day scholarship each year.

Thirty days can become an important beginning. During that time, the goal is to stabilize the person, engage them deeply in treatment, strengthen recovery skills and accountability, and begin building the next stage of care before the funded period ends.

Continued addiction treatment funding beyond the approved scholarship period is not guaranteed and is evaluated based on progress, placement options, and available funding. Transition Planning identifies the next appropriate step, which may include outpatient treatment, sober living, community recovery support, or another recovery pathway.

If someone is ready now, begin with Admissions. The first priority is getting the right person into the right care.

A scholarship is a serious opportunity, and recipients are expected to treat it that way. Clients must participate in assigned groups, therapy sessions, recovery activities, 12-Step programming, treatment planning, case management, daily accountability, behavioral expectations, and service within the recovery community.

Recovery requires participation. Our team provides the treatment, structure, clinical guidance, accountability, and recovery environment. The recipient has to show up and do the work.

Ongoing noncompliance may result in discharge or loss of scholarship funding. These expectations protect the integrity of the program and preserve limited scholarship opportunities for people who are ready to engage.

If you are ready to stop living the way addiction has forced you to live and fully commit to recovery, call Admissions. This opportunity was built for people willing to use it.
